ABOUT
Robbie Torres is NYC & LI based Composer, Performer, and Vocal Coach. He spent his formative years studying art, drama, music, and classical violin. His works have been performed at Lincoln Center, Opera America, Sony Hall, The Angel Orensanz Center, The York Theater, Columbia University, 54 Below, The Green Room 42, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, The Triad Theater, The Tada Theater, Marymount Manhattan College, The Lotos Club, The Metropolitan Club and more.
Robbie began his career in the arts serving as Associate of Operations for Rosie O'Donnell's non-profit organization Rosie's Theater Kids, where he specialized in non-profit fundraising, board cultivation, and event planning. Robbie toured with TheaterWorksUSA’s production of The Teacher From The Black Lagoon, bringing theatre to over 100,000 children across the nation. He then served as the resident music director for Sofia Landon-Geier’s Unity Stage Company. He is currently the resident music director for Inside Broadway, a position he’s held for the past 5 years.
Robbie owns and operates The Music Box, a Long Island based vocal & acting studio. Robbie’s coaching studio members are represented on Broadway, National Tours, and in TV/Film. He holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Marymount Manhattan College. He is a member of Actors’ Equity Association and the Local 802 Musicians’ Union.

Robbie has maintained a private vocal studio for 17 years. In addition to NYC and virtual coaching, Robbie expanded his studio to serve the greater Long Island community and operates The Music Box in the historic Landmark Building - 2100 Middle Country Road Centereach, NY 11720.
Robbie’s unique soul-driven approach to coaching has proven to be a tried-and-true method for actors to unlock their inner potential and understand how to best express themselves through body, mInd, spirit, and song. Robbie is consistently working as a professional in the industry, and is constantly evolving the repertoire he offers his clients - always staying on the cutting edge of where the industry is here and now.

My teaching approach is unique to each student artist and I am passionate about giving them all of the theatrical and real-life skills needed to thrive in the theatre industry.”
THE MUSIC BOX is an intimate, classically designed cabaret theater that seats up to 25 audience members. Complete with a stage, sound system, theatrical LED lighting, 2 pianos, an in-house Martin acoustic guitar, professional recording capabilities, and a small backstage dressing space - it’s the perfect space to hold small classes and solo/small ensemble performances.
