ABOUT
Robbie Torres is a NYC based Composer, Performer, and Vocal Coach. He spent his formative years studying art, drama, music, and classical violin. Full-scale composition works include a musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the. book/music/lyrics for Mein Letztes Kabaret, Requiem, The Spinning Middle. Additionally, he contributed music for Charles L. Mee’s The Four Seasons (World Premier: Angel Orensanz Foundation), Aftermath (National Opera Center America), and Epic Fail (NYMF). His works have been performed at Lincoln Center, The York Theater, Columbia University, 54 Below, The Green Room 42, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, The Triad Theater, The Tada Theater, Marymount Manhattan College, The Lotos Club, and The Metropolitan Club.
Robbie began his career in the arts serving as Associate of Operations for Rosie O'Donnell's non-profit organization Rosie's Theater Kids, where he specialized in non-profit fundraising, board cultivation, and event planning. He then served as the resident musical director for Sofia Landon-Geier’s Unity Stage Company, as well as music director for Inside Broadway, and SmithtownPAC. He toured with TheaterWorksUSA’s production of The Teacher From The Black Lagoon, bringing theatre to over 100,000 children across the nation.
Robbie owns and operates private vocal and recording studios in NYC and on Long Island. His latest full-length composition was commissioned by Columbia Musical Theatre Society (CMTS) in association with Barnard College. Robbie’s coaching studio members are represented on Broadway, National Tours, and in TV/Film. He holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Marymount Manhattan College. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, hiking, and cooking.

Robbie has maintained a private vocal studio for 15 years. For NYC studio members, he holds space at Ripley Grier Studios, 305 West 38th Street. He’s now expanded his studio to serve the greater Long Island community and operates his studio space in the historic Landmark Building - 2100 Middle Country Road Centereach, NY 11720.
Robbie’s unIque soul-driven approach to coaching has proven to be a tried-and-true method for actors to unlock their inner potential and understand how to best express themselves through body, mInd, spirit, and song. He actively works with MSA Agency as a vocal coach, often coaching some of the most successful professional dancers in the world.
Members of Robbie's studio have been represented on Broadway in Hamilton, West Side Story, Beautiful, King Kong, Dear Evan Hansen, Back To The Future, Dancin’, Motown, New York City Centers' Brigadoon, and the Broadway National Tours of Hamilton, Wicked, Anastasia, Waitress, summer: the Donna Summer musical, Finding Neverland, The Lion King, Miss Saigon, and Cinderella, as well as Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story feature film, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In The Heights feature film, Bill T. Jones’ Dance companY, and Alex Lacamoire’s workshop, Wrong Man.
Additionally, his clients have been represented at The Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Radio CIty, City Center, Company XIV, Cruise Ships, Amusement Parks, and regional theaters all across the world.
He coaches individuals with a range of experience and ability, offering a primary focus on professional dancers whose careers are taking them from the Dance company track to the commercial Broadway IndusTry. He Strives to bridge the gap between these artistic paths, offering his studio members an in-depth examination of their skill set in order to book work that best fits their type and abilities.

ROBBIE IS ELATED TO ANNOUNCE HIS INAUGURAL SEASON OF EDUCATIONAL THEATRE CLASSES!
Classes will take place in his new studio, The Music Box - Located at the historic Landmark Building, 2100 Middle Country Road in Centereach.
“I have worked in Arts Education for 15 years. Artistic mentorship is my life’s purpose and I provide a fun, safe, inclusive, professional environment for student artists to grow. I build stars. My students are represented at nearly every theater on Long Island, oftentimes as the leading roles. Local artistic directors, choreographers, music directors, and directors praise my ability to take a student artist from ordinary to extraordinary. My teaching approach is unique to each student artist and I am passionate about giving them all of the theatrical and real-life skills needed to thrive in the theatre industry.”
THE MUSIC BOX is an intimate, classically designed cabaret theater that seats up to 25 audience members. Complete with a stage, sound system, theatrical LED lighting, 2 pianos, an in-house Martin acoustic guitar, professional recording capabilities, and a small backstage dressing space - it’s the perfect space to hold small classes and solo/small ensemble performances.
